The Central Science network (CASN) was founded in 1998.  The CASN is a non-profit organization with objectives of being a leader in the promotion of scientific thinking and education in the Central Alberta area.  CASN specifically targets the local formal education systems but also provides support and has activities for various other groups and ages.  Approximately 100 volunteers in the Central Alberta area assist us with our programing.  Many of the volunteers travel great distances to provide quality science programming and inspiration to many students and teachers in the rural area of Central Alberta.

Since 1998, CASN volunteers have given presentations to over 80,000 students, teachers and others donating over 12,500 hours of presentation time, not to mention preparation and travel time!
